April 20, 2025Toronto-based artist Odario returns with his latest single, “The Situation.” This track is a collaboration with UK dub pioneer Mad Professor and Canadian soul singer Yolanda Sargeant, blending analog dub textures with poetic hip-hop lyricism and soulful vocals.
Recorded at Mad Professor’s legendary Ariwa Studios in South London, “The Situation” merges Odario’s introspective storytelling with Mad Professor’s signature dub production. Yolanda Sargeant, known as “Canada’s Queen of Lo-Fi Soul,” adds her ethereal vocals, creating a rich sonic tapestry.
The single also features contributions from musicians Warren Bray (bass, guitar), Alister Johnson (drums, keys), and Aubrey McGhee (saxophone), enhancing the track’s depth and groove.
