On the heels of her PHI north residency in 2023, Shah Frank has officially joined the Disques 7ième Ciel family! PHI north residency is an initiative that welcomes artists for two-week creative retreats in a riverfront loft in the Laurentian Mountains.

This residency offers an opportunity to produce, explore, and experiment in a fully immersive, intimate, and peaceful setting within a nature-based recording studio.

For her first release as part of the 7ieme Ciel banner Shah Frank finds herself working once again under the guidance of trusted collaborators veteran rapper Imposs and producers David Saysum & Forgs, this new project has Shah Frank revisiting the iconic Quebec Hip-Hop classic “L’étage souterrain” by Sans Pression and Yvon Krevé, originally released in 1999.

“L’Étage SouterREINE” is a powerful homage to the trailblazers of Quebec’s Hip-Hop and R&B scene, celebrating black joy, resilience, and Shah Frank’s rich Haitian heritage. 🇭🇹 Made in Haiti, born in Brooklyn, and raised in Montreal, Shah Frank brings a fresh and vibrant energy to the city’s R&B landscape with her unique blend of American, Haitian, and Quebec influences.
