In celebration of Hip Hop’s 50th birthday, the 6-track EP will spotlight emerging artists across Sony Music Entertainment, bringing a fresh twist to iconic classics through cover versions, interpolations, and remixes.

“FU” serves as a sonic tribute to the sounds of early 90s Hip Hop, showcasing how it continues to inspire a new wave of talent. Originating from Brooklyn, the Fu-Schnickens were renowned for their high-speed raps and unique rhythm style, with their debut album earning a Gold Certification in 1992.

BEAM, with roots in Brooklyn and a unique connection to the Fu-Schnickens through his father, Jamaican singer Papa San, infuses “FU” with his personal flair. His father’s influence, coupled with the track’s fast rap elements, made it one of BEAM’s early musical loves upon arriving in America.

The black-and-white music video, directed by madebyJAMES, channels the raw essence of early Hip Hop in NYC, adding a visual dimension to BEAM’s tribute.

As a GRAMMY-winning producer and sought-after collaborator for global icons like Rihanna and Kanye West, BEAM’s star continues to rise.
