A veteran of the Toronto Music scene, Dojo (Bonski) teamed up with his cousin Dojo Gallardo to form 1988 Music Group. Dojo’s continued ties to Junia T, Stay Out Late, ELMNT and the Toronto indie scene have grown his network considerably. Dojo’s performance and collaboration credits include, Papoose (Hamilton,ON), Chamillionaire (Hamilton,ON), Rich Kidd vol 6 (Great Hall), NXNE, The Big Ticket with Scratch (from The Roots), The Consignment Show ( London,ON) with ELMNT and John River, Ottawa, ON with Junia T (Canada Loves Dilla), Long Winter with Stay out Late at the Gladstone Hotel. Blog T.O featured footage of Dojo’s Drake Hotel performance with Tremayne of Stay Out Late for the Academy presents “The Hustle” in their March 2015 article “A brief guide to independent Toronto Hip Hop”. Recently returning to his birthplace, Dojo has formed a great kinship within the local arts community, performing at Live On Elgin’s television broadcast via Rogers TV (2019). As well as connecting to the Montreal scene through collaborative events with 99 Wolves, DJ Bles-sed, and ELMNT. Performances at Kalmunity Music Week 2019 (Smif n Wessun), Bootlegger L’Authentique, as well as Ausgang (The Heritage) have introduced Dojo to the Montreal community. Fresh off a fast start to the year, Dojo looks forward to sharing their debut project, while continuing to connect with people everyday. This is a movement for living.
